I don't mind if a guy hasn't built his car entirely my himself. What I do care about is when people are truthful and reasonably humble. There is no shame in admitting that you have limitations. If I met a guy that drove his car straight from a shop to a car show, I'd get along fine as long as he didn't claim it to be all his own work while refusing to share some of the experiences.
We all have heard from the idiots that brag about their 440 Hemi cars, 1968 Challengers, 1973 Superbirds and the rare turbo Valiant. When a guy shows up in a nice pro built car but really seems enthused about it, I won't be the guy to snub him.
