On my recent trip to Florida I came across this. I think it would make a really cool project. Does any body ever remember coming across one? Know who made them? It appears to be factory but I could be wrong.

I think even the most understanding wife in the world will have an issue if you bring this one home! :)

that is so cool I don't recall ever seeing one . what state was that in jack ?

If that is the factory color Erie used the red. CB's had some wild equipment,I have seen quite a few oddballs around Fort Leonard Wood but they were OD green

The location of this gem is going to remain a secret for now, while I decide whether I am going to try to buy it or not. The wife thinks it is really cool as well so it may be in my future.

I think Bucyrus built some old steam shovels on Dodge truck chassis'. As mentioned above, there was one at Fort Leonardwood in OD green years ago.

I don't know the cab looks like a power wagon. Plus it doesn't look like the crane has room to turn on the truck chassis. That is why I said it looks like someones home engineering.

I think that is because of the angle I took the photo at Roy. If you look real close you can see daylight between the cab and the excavator plus the back of the excavator is curved to allow turning.
