Does anyone happen to have a good picture of this frame bracket on the car with the wheel off? Converting auto to 4 speed and need good idea where it is installed and orientation. Factory manual was not a lot of help. Have heard there is a dimple in the wheelwell side of the inner fender where hole for the ball stud is to be drilled but don't know if it's there on my new amd inner fender. Car is currently at a shop getting metal replacement and paint.

Isn't the hole for the stud already there. I mean in the inner fender well? You then insert the stud from the inside out, slide the stiffener plate over the stud, tighten the nut down and then weld the stiffener plate to the frame rail?

Seems like I have done it the way I describe in the way distant past, but it has been a while. I know my 68 Barracuda has the hole in the inner fender well, I just looked.

My left inner fender well was replaced so don't know if hole or dimple is in new fender well or not. Will find out Thursday hopefully. If there it will be easy to locate bracket correctly using SGBARRACUDA's method.

Well if not, let me know, I can take some pictures of where the hole is off my 68 Barracuda or one of the parts cars out back.

You're better off being able to make Your own hole with the trans/bellhousing installed and mocking up the bellcrank so that you can position it as optimally as
possible, rather than just using a hole that ended up wherever it ends up after being replaced/welded in with an aftermarket part...regardless how nice it is.
