Now thats just wrong

Every single time one of these threads comes up someone whines about "cash for clunkers". All it does is make you look dumb, because not a single car made before 1984 was eligible for the federal program. Not a single muscle car era Mopar was crushed for the federal program. Yeah, I'm sure some M and J bodies were crushed, but there were plenty of those in the yards after 2009 when they ran cash for clunkers. I know because that's where all my FMJ spindles came from.

Some of the states run their own programs that don't exclude classics, but the federal program did. I'm surprised Alabama is so restrictive, here in California you can buy salvage yard cars and put them back on the road. They get a salvage title, but that's it.
I don't think that was the premise of the complaint, I witnessed many SPOTLESS perfectly good used S10 blazers, Dakota 4x4's, Cherokee's, etc. etc. destroyed & scrapped
never to be saved & repaired BY "LAW", thus the used car market prices went up for those wanting such vehicles, many who couldn't afford new vehicles or get financed got
screwed all for a bogus "save the planet" sham...................And people like Myself got screwed the most, 'cause My tax dollars were used to subsidize this commie program
and I was the one driving My efficient FWD turbo & non-turbo Mopars daily for a decade & a half............I got nothing for a "reward"....I just helped someone else buy a new
RAV4...............after using their Expedition to run the rug-rats to band practice......................
