Hey guys,
I've got a 360 magnum engine,1994, that I picked up for a really good price. Its fully built including aluminum heads, air gap intake etc and its fully balanced and blueprinted .Cast crank is also now internally balanced by adding appropriate weight with a powerforce plus harmonic damper. Here's my dilemma. I am running an a-833 4-speed and I'm not sure what flywheel to use with this engine combo. From everything I've read here it seems that the mopar performance flywheel, part # p5249842 is the one to go with but will it work now that the crank is internally balanced and not externally balanced as it was originally?

Anybody able to help with this one?

You will need a flywheel for an internally balanced engine as the 5.9L was external. Or take all of your rotating parts & have them balanced as a unit ... some folks recommend sending the clutch assembly as well.

Use a 318/early 340 flywheel that is neutral balanced.
The number you listed is for an external balance stock 5.9 Magnum. Do not use that one.
I cannot give you a known good number since my catalog does not list one for the early LAs. I could guess at the following;
P4529142 NOT SFI, for 30#, and
P4876047 no descriptor,for 18.5#
both are 130tooth, 6-bolt, and steel.
Neither say anything about balance.

You don't have a 360 Magnum.

You have a 5.9 Magnum, and if it is truly internally balanced, than ANY neutral balance small block flywheel will work. Get one for a early 340 and you'll be golden

Great info guys!
Thanks very much for the replies.
