Does anyone know of any aftermarket dash pads for early (63-66) a-bodies? I have found dash pad caps on ebay, but they just cover the existing one (that is split in a bunch of places). I would like to just replace the one I have rather than try to squish mine together and cover it up.

To my knowledge no one is reproducing early A Dart or Plymouth (different shape from the Dart) dash pads. I've got a pair of mint pads but they are for my wagon and Barracuda.

Not that I have seen. You might try these guys.

They will recover yours if it's not too far gone but be prepared to shell out the bucks - $600 and up!

Heard that before but haven't figured out what's the difference. Mind to share?

The Dart dash pads have the same contour end to end whereas the Plymouth one have a different contour, especially in the middle. I'll see about taking a pic of each

Here you go: a pad out of my 65 Dart. I will not be using this one for 2 reasons: my wagon has a blue interior and I have a really nice blue pad for it and while this black pad was in storage, something must have shifted and left a small hole in the face of the pad. I hope to be able to remove the old cover and replace it with new vinyl (which is what Just Dashs would do).

and one for a 65 Plymouth Barracuda;

This pad is replacing the really crappy original that was original to my Barracuda.

I don't know for sure if 64-earlier pads for each are the same as these but for 65/66 they are as shown. And for good measure either pad will fit a 63-66 metal dash if the dash has the pre-drilled mounting holes (or you drill the properly spaced holes yourself). So if you wanted the fancier Plymouth pad in a Dart, it can be done.

Might be so. My 63 Dart has the "Plymouth" one. Of course, can also be non-original one.

I'm looking into making the metal support piece so a friend of mine can get some "dart" pads done with injection molded foam. the cool part is I think it can be done in ABS and modified for either Dart OR Plymouth. It's slow going since I'm going on vactation (the wife ordered it) and I have other projects ahead of that, like the molded glove box and redone speaker kick panels first.

and yes the support metal is different
dart is the rusty one on the bottom.
