that long tail can fit , go to bigblockdart.com shows you just what to do . 727 auto driveline fits that swap .

you will have to turn the ring down for a rb bell . but there is a truck or van bell for the la's . remember that alines the trans with the crankshaft it must be right on . the short tallshaft box has the same thing .

this is how i made the linkage adapter and rods for my swap in my 69 dart gtsport . the forward mount pad will get ground away . it hits the a body crossmember upper section in the car .

were's da fun in that , lol .
I converted this 1970 heavy duty B/E body four speed with the bigger 308 bearings with a special A-body extension housing from passon performance. No factory extension for the bigger bearing. Call me crazy but I heard the cast iron part has a tendency to crack under extreme use. I live 15 miles from a dragstrip.

Did the scattershield hit the trans tunnel or was it just linkage that was giving you trouble? I am curious at how much fun it will be to set it up. I don't trust a stock bell on repeated runs down a prepped track.

this tunnel and motor placement issues . if i had to do it with headers , witch i've done on the same car . just a very tight car for one . need the clutch package on the motor , put the motor with the bell on , and the release bearing night mare begins . put the assembly together out side the car and then install , it goes but its ruff . next time i do it from the bottom with the k member on it with the motor/trans assembled , and drop the body down over it all . i'll assume you are running headers as well on your machine . will be 340 6pcking a 64 cuda with headers , that is the way i'm installing it . thats even tighter then these later a bodies . does any one make a two piece shatter shield for a's , lakewood made a b block one for b bodies . it will not be clutch change friendly other wise . i put a trick custom carbin fiber type disc in this duster , good for 80k miles , i hope . lol . not sure whats going in the 340 6pck package . being a tighter fitting package . still gathering for that cuda transplant , qa-1 parts for the suspension , got uca's n lca's for my kh disc conversion . should be a fun ride .

Mine is going behind this 400 after I finish putting it together. Nothing too radical but should be pretty fast in my 70 Dart. Headers are from tubular parts automotive and should not give me too much trouble with only 1 tube going under chassis. I have a lift so I will probably do the all in one install with the k-frame. Also have to finish the Dana 60.

hey i like the early et's on it , don't see them everyday . ya your headers are going to hang in there while you set the body down over the eng/trans package . had a 383 in my 69 gt until i wrecked it . it was a okay fast car , just not fast enough to stay out of the way , lol . sold that body off , put the drive train in my other stuff . put that engine in my 64 d100 . i've got quarters from a 70 dart swinger if needed .

The wheels are replica halibrands 15x6 and 15x10 really good quality for most likely Chinese. You can still buy a set of 4 under $600. I got a sweptline too. I am on the east coast so probably a bit far for the quarters.

I have done the tailshaft exchange several times, no big deal to it.
I have installed the B/E longtail into a 68 Barracuda, also no big deal. I moved the shifter rearwards to between the buckets. This is the best thing about this swap; no more reaching for third gear! I made a new shifter mount and new rods. You will have to grind off a bit of the front mounting pad to clear I forget what, in the tunnel. I think it was to clear the top hoop. That was 2004 ish. It was only a couple of hours work.
Oh yeah,
I reused an old Mr.Gasket "Bang!"shifter with a pretty short stick, and raised that shifter high enough to put the top bolt in from inside the car. I've never missed a shift after that. Thousands of successful shifts, some as high as 7200.

alfred's one of those mustang boys that does not do what he says he going to do . can't take his word for anything , he's bought parts from me before . just to never finish paying for them or even keeping him word on picking them up . alfred please tell them i'm wrong . so to the fellow members here . he's jack me for months . i started out helping him , just to get treated like nobody . so i'm done here .
