Picked this up yesterday...

Thanks, Bruce. I've been passively looking for a couple of years now. Rob (Rusty Rat Rod) has occasionally been sending me leads on cars that he comes across, here and there. That alone kept my interest in doing another car.

This one was completely unexpected. I found it on Facebook at a site called "MoPar Swap Shop and Trade". It was originally listed for $2800.00. That was last Saturday (5/13). I PM'd the guy immediately, and so did a bunch of other guys. He began to get cold feet, and while talking and texting with him, he said he needed to get $3000 for it. I told him I wanted to see that car.

we talked and texted for the rest of the week, and finally, this past Saturday (5/20) I was able to drive over to see it. The ride was nearly 3 hours. He was a young guy, and seem to be pretty honest, and straight forward. His grand dad was there to help him through the negotiations and sale. His grandfather is also a gear head, and has a 67 Buick Skylark drag car.. Anyway I was there for about 2 hours, and went over the car fairly well. It was a little better than I expected, with the seats and paint being in very good condition.

I told him I'd give him the $3K with one condition. I needed it delivered to my house. He and grand dad discussed it, and and agreed.

He had a trailer and two Dodge trucks, 1 flat bed, and one tow truck). neither would do better than 11 or 12 MPG's though. His Grand dad had a regular cab/ shortbed GMC Sierra which would do fine with the empty trailer. So we decided to put the trailer onto my truck, and they'd follow me home, to retrieve the trailer. That's what we did.

I am apart of the group on FB. Weird folks on that page, but often I do see some good deals.
