so guys I have small block with Ron Francis wiring currently running 60 amp denso and not having anough amps to keep up. Dual fans electric fuel pump stereo system aftermarket heater so on and so on. Everything's pulling juice. Which is the best alternator to get would prefer to be able to buy at parts store but will do what I have to

I believe Napa has a voltage regulator that is adjustable and may solve your problems. If not, switch to a G.M. one wire alt. I may end up going that route as well.

Add up or measure your amp draw with everything turned on in the car. You need to at least match that with an alternator of equal output. IIRC some of the GM Denso mini alts put out up to 120 AMPs and their output at idle is substantially higher than Mopar alts, which is their main drawback. AER makes conversion brackets for BB & SB Mopars. Tuff Stuff, and I'm sure others, offer uprated Mopar alts. I went with a 100 AMP TS alt in my Duster running similar equip as you. Puts out 45 AMPs at idle.

there is an elec company in Kansas, (cant remember the name, maybe d-b elec). he built me a 1 wire gm -130 amp for my 440/505. sio far so good. found him on ebay.

Oops, sorry that should be AR Èngineering or ARE. I checked their site and they only have brackets for the 60 amp Denso. I'm sure there is someone out there making others. Or fab up your own.

A 120a Denso unit should bolt up to your existing brackets and put out ~60a or so at idle. Be mindful of the charge post position on the larger Denso alternators though - alternators with rear charge posts may cause interference issues. Saw one for sale on this forum a while back. Here's the link:

[FOR SALE] - 120amp Denso Alt

Still have it sitting on the shelf if you are interested
