Hi did all these cars originally come with the Pentastars in gold or silver behind the front wheels on the front fenders?

Right fender only. In Australia, our cars came with them only on the left mudguard/fender. Must be so the pedestrians know what they're looking at, I can see no other reason for this?

Right fender only and gold. I have never seen a different color

Correct me if I'm wrong. The first year was 1964.Done for the 50 year anniversary of Dodge......

All the ones you see that are silver started life out as gold. Through years of washing waxing and weather the gold ware's off.

Also, as far as I know the original style gold pentastar emblem was no longer used sometime during the 72 model year. Have never been able to narrow it down as to when...

Thanks to you all, what rapid great responses! I will order one, as I am refinishing my Dart.
Only question is exactly where on the passenger fender does it go, how far up and how far in, I been trying to find out online search engines with no luch.

Actually the story goes that the bean counters and advertizing dept fought over it. Advert guys wanted em on both sides. Bean counters didnt want em at all. The compromise was curb side only because thats where pedestrians would most likely see them.

64-66 they were gold tone diecast emblem w a barrel nut. They cheapened em up in 67 by eliminating the barrel nut and making them out of black plastic, with a gold anodized stamped aluminum insert glued in.

IIRC there's a locating hole in the fender for it.

I had a one owner 1963 that had the gold on the passenger side. I had always heard that they represented the 5 year 50000 mile warranty that started that year?

GM had their logo mark, fords oval and script was their logo mark. Both of these were on GM and ford dealerships respectively. Chrysler didnt have a logomark . When they came up with the pentastar it went on all the dealership signage. The advertising guys wanted it on all the chrysler cars as well.

My 72 has 2 pegs for the Pentastar. If it only had 1, it would easily go off center/crooked I think...
