This is on a 1963 Plymouth Belvedere station wagon has anyone ever converted your manual brake switch under the dash to a two prong pressure brake switch that gets pluumbed into the brake system. There was originally three wires that connected to the manual brake switch two wires were tied together in one connector that plug into the manual brake switch and then there was one lead off the back of it I'm asduming it went to power cannot figure out how to rewire to the two prong pressure brake switch see pictures of manual and Brake pressure switch

Why do you want to do this? Most people go the other way - removing the pressure switch and putting in an actual switch. If the diaphragm in the pressure switch fails you loose your brakes.....

To answe your question, your wires that went to the manual switch will all go to one prong of the diaphragm switch, the other prong gets grounded.

Second that, I cant tell you the number of times I've had to replace the hydraulic brake pressure switch because it failed and I was left without brake lights.

So the two wires that were connected to the one terminal they go on one and then the other one gets grounded is that a ground wire that comes off the pigtail of the manual

Is the one wire coming off the back of the pigtail is that a ground wiring on the manual switch

The way the switch normally works is there is power to the switch and when you depress the pedal power goes through the switch to the tail lights. A third wire could be for a third taillight , i.e. rear window, or for a torque converter lock up, etc., but never to ground, if it goes to ground it blows the fuse EVERY TIME! Ask me how I know .

I would NOT do this for a number of reasons........high failure rate, and you can actually make a stop without the lamps turning on. Hydraulic switches are junk.

Harley used hydraulic switches for years, and they never failed that I saw. HD is big on safety.

Maybe you should try HD switches?

Harley's probably aren't driven as much as autos here in the Northeast. Also because they drive between lanes they don't hit their brakes as much in rush hour traffic.

This all started putting in new carpet I was converting to a brake pressure switch from a manual switch now checking all my lights I have no brake lights or running lights turn signals work I noticed a spark when feeding the wires through the fire wall from the manual switch but all the fuses are good ????? I bet I cut something trimming carpet ?? or behind kick panel I'M SUCH A DUMB ***

Start going point to point, you'll find it soon enough

Well I solved it went back to the manual brake switch I also replaced a couple fuses that look good but weren't still has the stock glass fuses for some reason a left brake light will not work if the left turn signal is left in the on position with the power off vice versa for the right side didn't know that

In my humble opinion, you will be MUCH better off finding the source of your wiring problem and fixing it properly rather than to try and jury rig some sort of a pressure switch setup.
