Cracked Block

it can be fixed, not a big deal for someone that welds castings every day, all day. clean it, grind the crack to a v groove, preheat it. I work at a steel foundry, u would not believe how much welding we do. the other key is the weld wire needs to match the base material. we have about 20 different types of weld wire, each in some mig, stick and tig. I do not think a sleeve is a good idea, cuz that would require the bore to get bigger for the sleeve=thinner base metal. shop around for someone that u feel confident in, or contact me. also-a important part of any quality weld that u want to last-post weld heat treat/stress relief.
