Will a 2998324 fan shroud that is meant for a 22" radiator in an A-body with a slant work in a V8 application? I realize it is not the correct part, but time is short.

Thanks,

sb

It'll fit the rad, the problem is the stock opening for it is made for the offset on a slant 6. I 'think' I remember trying this once years back and IIRC I had to flip the shroud upside down to get the opening so the blades would not hit. It was close, but not quite. Do what you have to do to make the opening in the shroud center around the V8 blades and make tabs, cut/trim for mounting, etc, if looks aren't that critical. Either that or spring for the 325 shroud.

I've heard of folks flipping them for a V8 application, but when I tried it, the round part of the shroud blocked one (maybe both) of the transmission cooler fittings on the radiator.

Ok, it is like I thought. I had d100 that was a slant that a PO 318ed. He used the slant shroud and a tiny flex fan to get it to work. I got the correct shroud & put in an enormous fan from an rv...but I digress.

325 fan shroud it is.....$$$!
