So, my father has two 1972 Plymouth Dusters and I am thinking about getting one from him. The one I want is currently only body and chassis. I talked to a friend of mine and he suggested I put a new 5.7L in it. Is this something you guys ever see in a car like the duster? If so, where would I begin to shop for one? I would appreciate any insight to what one would do for a motor in these circumstances.

Welcome to FABO....

Just a suggestion -- and advice for anyone who reads this... You might get more responses if you titled your thread better.

For example - instead of saying "Noob Questions" You might have instead said "New 5.7 Engine in a Duster possible?"

It will be a little expensive compared to a small block. What do you want to use for the transmission? It has been done successfully.

I'd use the 833 four speed and a Quicktime bell housing. You'll spend some time and money getting the electronics for the motor so keep the rest old school. The newer trans require surgery on the trans tunnel. Keep it as simple as you can!!!!!!
