looking to buy a set of new cosmetic head gaskets for a .060 over 340[thats what was on it ] some thing someone bought and didnt use with a good price have a set of new felpro blues #1008 can trade whats out there ? thanks
 
If you reuse them you need to coat them with a good copper coat sealer on both sides, a couple good coats but not so much that it squirts out, you know what I mean.
Cometic doesn't recommend reusing them once they have been heat cycled but I know a few people that have done it with no problems. If you can't find a set let me know before you buy a new set.
 
Cometic told me I could reuse them after cleaning them and with a light coat of copper spray coating but they also had to be used with the same heads and block they were originally used. Could not be reused if I was changing the heads. I tried it and they have been fine on my engine and I have 11.0 compression. Mine are also .080 thick. I did buy another set just in case but these old ones have been fine for going on three years now.
 
No!!! Just clean them up so the outer layers are nice and clean. Inner layers should be fine. That's all I did. Can of Gumout and sprayed with copper gasket sealer. Done!!!!!
 
To put your mind at ease call Cometic and talk to them yourself. That way you aren't going by second hand information. That's what I did. It will help you make up your mind about which way to go.
