Do you have to take the headers off the take the mini starter out.

Or the regular starter. I haven't put mine on yet. The starter out of a newer Dakota I've heard works well.

Haven't had to pull the starter since installing them; but, I think it can as long as whatever head pipes you make or have made allow it

I bought 4 180* mandrel bent pieces from columbia river mandrel bending and took the sections to my exhaust shop and they cut and spliced segments to put in 2 1/2" head pipes above the steering linkages that dumped out about the same location as long tube headers. I'll have to dig through my own not a resto thread to find them as my computer decided to crap out recently and I can't find any of my previous pics.
