Hi, just retired Thursday from crucible steel Syracuse n y. I am so happy,no more bullshit road construction. No more getting up at 1:30 in the morning. I'm just venting, going to work on my mopar bye.

Congrats, I have a way to go, but wish I was retired. Right around 40 is when I realized I had better things to do. I also like my income though so its a catch 22.

Congratulations man! I retired from 28 years in the tool business on June 1. Although I am still working at finishing up, it has been satisfying so far. In a week, I hope to be pretty much done and on to "my" schedule! Enjoy.......

Retiring is finally working at things you enjoy more.
.. you will work harder and be more productive...Congrats!

Been with the company 29 years. Started when I was 21. I just turned 50 this past February. I'm planning on 10 to 12 more years before I call it quits.

Congrats to you man! Enjoy it!

Congrats to you now enjoy it. I worked at Warren Truck (Dodge Ram's and Dakota's) for 35 years and over at Viper and Prowler for 7 months, retired in May of 2007. Now I do part time work from time to time maybe 2 days a week some times 3 days a week at places that I always wanted to try out like small engine shops. A world of difference when you work because you want to not because you have to.

You are absolutely right! It's nice to work if and when you WANT to, not cause you have to.

Congrats!
now you can thumb your nose at that place every time you go to the fairgrounds.

Had friends who worked there in the early 70's. Not the most...pleasant...work enviroment.:mob:

For Gods sake, don't just sit, veg and watch TV. Your old body is 30 plus years used to a certain schedule and the change in that can be harmful. Ease into it and live long.

Well I got 10 more years on my mortgage so I guess I'll be working to at least age 74 then,Lord willing. Then I can start freshening my "Cuda"........'til I'm 84, then keel over and will the car to my only son, never having driven it again.
Lucky you...........
