This weekend I'm trying to get the White Whale I (97 1/2T, 200K, AC, 5.2) ready to sell, because I finally have the WWIII "about ready".......(2001 3/4T, 140K, 5.9, no AC)

The WWI ended up with nearly a full tank of fuel, I don't remember, nearly 30 gal? I was not going to give THAT away

When I drained the Ranger prior to giving it away to State (effin) Farm, I pulled the Schrader out of the test port and jumpered the pump relay

That worked but was slow

On the Dakota/ Durango/ RAM, there is a girdle fitting next to the transmission, so I pulled that loose and clamped a short scrap of 5/16 on there and jumpered the relay.

Now, bear in mind this truck ran GREAT, did not miss, give errors, nor run out of power on a long hard pull

BUT after some seconds pumping, the nice clear stream starts to foam, and then pulse. EITHER THE TANK FILTER cannot handle full volume, or it is slightly plugged up after only 200K!!!!!

Fuel injection fuel pumps usually sit inside a cylinder to prevent the pump from sucking air and loosing pressure when the fuel sloshes around the tank. Your probably pumping the cylinder out faster than the fuel can flow back in, under normal operating conditions the engine wouldn't be able to use that much fuel to cause the pump to cavitate.

Maybe that's the new Cali gas that is 30% air bubbles.?:D

I finally got most of it out, the "new" WWIII is now on full and the WWI is now below 1/4!!! LOL.
