Does anyone know where I can buy a pair of down pipes for my Dodge Dart 318ci
but not using the factory location... they bent the **** out of the bend to get that
pipe to fit..

Give Dick at Accurate Ltd a call

actually No.
I have never said I was the smartest guy in the world, and I don't own a
car newer then 74, and over the years the nomenclature for exhaust systems
has changed. I spent a bit of time looking up information on exhaust
systems yesterday, and from what they say now is that the pipe leading from
the exhaust manifold is the "down pipe" your looking at the "Tail pipe"
(nice bend ) although it looks like the pipe has been restricted a little..
Dodge when they installed the "down pipe" using my nomenclature
actually took a hammer and smacked the pipe so it would pass through
some of the suspension linkage, instead of bending the "down Pipe" to
go around these parts...
I"m not ready to drive the car yet, but I don't want the exhaust coming
at me while I am tuning the engine, thus I wanted to get that 20" of pipe
and install it. If I can't I'll just have to haul the car over to my local muffler
shop and back.
Thanks for your input...

It's a tight fit as the pipe goes between the starter motor and the torsion bar. Below is a picture of what your talking about.

A Body Headpipe Tech

As motor mounts sag and as each car was not the exact same dimension as the next, it's likely that even a Accurate exhaust head pipe might need to be dented depending on the alignment of the engine relative to the car.

That 2 1/4 from Accurate should fit real nice. TTI makes it in 2.5 in mandrel bent pipe. Really nice

I think the op is referring to the head pipes. The head pipes come off the exhaust manifold. Accurate makes a nice set of head pipes that have all the correct bends.

Yes dartforte TTI makes head pipes too, and they are mandrel bent (meaning no bends) in 2 1/2 pipe. Its better pipe.

I bet a skilled exhaust fab guy at a shop could make something for cheaper. I "made" my own head pipes for my '88 Fifth Avenue (318), just cut out some paper templates and had some pieces of 2 1/8" pipe compression-bent at a local muffler shop. In fact I made the entire dual exhaust for that car that way, altogether was about $150 not including mufflers. Only thing is it's not mandrel-bent but with factory 318 log manifolds the outlet is barely 2", you won't notice a difference.
