1965 Plymouth Valiant Signet convertible

273 V/8 2 barrel, 4 speed original Hurst shifter, with working AIR CONDITIONING-blows cool

Total convertible production said to be 2500- most were 6 cylinders, most were automatics, many were V 200s, very, very few convertibles of any kind had A/C in the sixties. I have never seen or heard of another one with this equipment- very rare- only one?

All original factory equipment-numbers matching drivetrain-Power steering, simulated woodgrain steering wheel, manual drum brakes. Manual top- EZ up and down operation- no electro/hydraulics to mess with .Passenger side mirror, seat belts, aftermarket AM/FM cassette- fits in dash-not cut. Excellent grill, headlight trim, convertible specific trim

Mechanics always faithfully maintained- have known since late 1970s. Starts ,runs, drives easily/smoothly- 148K miles-Excellent driver-all systems work- charging, cooling, gauges, etc

Maryland clear title in my name, tagged and driven regularly – attracts crowd at cruise nights

Originally sold on June 21, 1965 by Cox Motor Company Tulsa, Oklahoma (remember the buried 1957 Plymouth time capsule?) – in original owner’s manual in glovebox

Traveled to MD at some point, purchased by prior owner from friend in 1979. Goes by name of “Gloria” Moved to Southern California in early 1981. Had painted in original color after a scrape on driver side and seats upholstered (looks like original but not exactly. Paint and interior very nice. I purchased in 2012 as prior owner inherited a Porsche 911 that took up garage space.

I added new Legendary door panels, arm rests and pads, and top boot- rear side panels very nice. Black convertible top is in excellent condition- garage kept

Just completed replacing gas tank (Quanta), sending unit, filler neck grommet, Inline Tubes gas line to front, new fuel pump and filter

14”sbp Rallyes, new repro trim rings, new BFG radial /TAs- 215X70 front and 225X70 rear

Available also 273 engine out of my hardtop with 45,000 miles with/without all correct Commando parts on 2 barrel engine- intake , correct # carb, chrome air cleaner, wrinkle valve covers, NOS chrome PVC valve assembly, new timing chain/gears and new water pump or rebuilt 2 barrel carb on original intake
