Looks like the headers I have for my transplant is about to get rough. TTI says no to the factory power steering. Has anyone done it and if so care to share you story and even a few pictures lol...

Thanks,
JW

Schumacher fits with power steering. If you want the ttis be prepared to put some dents in them

I know it's not cheep but maybe this aftermarket power steering box would help? If it did sure would help from having to beat the crap out of your TTI headers

Here is a pick showing the size difference. Says it's 13 pounds lighter than the stock one.

It's nobody's fault by my own on this one....... The Schumacher header will more than fit my needs. I got caught up in a whirlwind of TTI's land and got popped. But I can sell them since they are brand new. I will call Schumacher Wednesday and get the scoop.

Thanks for the headsup....

That is a nice box but not the direction I want to go with the build. I don't even mind dinging headers honestly but if a set fits my build and I can retain the original steering I am OK with it. I am definitely not happy about my TTI mistake but atleast now I know where I stand....

Part of my brain woes on this one was the "crop duster" episode on Roadkill. Though they did beat those TTI's up it was because they were not for an A Body. Furburger also mentioned he was retaining the Power Steering so I thought they would work lol...

Oh wow. That would suck, TTI are not cheep at all. I had TTI on the 440 in my Big block dart. I didn't have to beat on my Headers at all. But my car had a Faming River manual steering box. But I did have to grind down a stiffing rib on the box, to clear some tubes. Also had to take out the grease zerk on the pitman arm.

No problem. I made the same mistake on my valiant and just couldn't come to terms with beating my headers. Like you said I just sold them as is brand new and got the schumachers

Train jumped off the tracks with this car about 2 weeks ago. I am gonna slow down with working on it right now. I listed the headers to sell them so I will see how it goes.... If I was trying to do something bigger with the car I would keep them and ditch power steering and such but this ain't a race car and even with Tri-y's I could set this thing up to get thrown out for no Roll Bar lol....

Thank you for bringing this to my attention....
