Any opinions out there on the best fitting headers on the market for my 1969 318 Barracuda?

Dougs or TTI is the general consensus.

In all reality my Flowtechs fit quite well. I don't know if I got any performance gains and they were a ***** to install. So I went with Dougs but I have yet to install them.

K I S S 340 HP manifolds with tti head pipes and pypes exhaust with a "x" crossover// doubt that the 318 will max that out//easy/no leaks/plenty of ground clearence

Headman tite tucks.
I have no experience with these headers or Dougs. I have used with excellent results are;

Summit & Hooker headers. But they are the universal 3 tubes under the linkage design I suggest NOT using.

I just used TTI headers on the wife's '67 Cuda. And there exhaust system.
I highly recommend there use.

Wait for a good sale and you can get a nice deal on the Doug's...

Do your cam and heads really need headers?

On a stock '73 long-block with just a 4bbl,and 5500 rpm springs,(stock cam), I had great results with TTIs and dual 3" pipes all the way.
But I had greater results with a 9.72 starter gear and a 2800TC! oh yeah.
And with a12.08 starter-gear and a clutch it was yet funner.
With the full pkg it was a very fun car.
Oh,also, with 295's out back, I didn't have a lot of tire-spin to worry about. She just dug in and moaned the TQ moan, lol.
You know what? This engine was even fun with Double OD.A different kind of fun. With a 1.97 final drive; 65=1591rpm=mega gas-mileage on the 1.5" TQ-primaries. Double OD was the A833od box and the GVOD behind it;7 useable all-in-a-row,ratios.

But yeah; TTIs fit reasonably well with the 4-speed linkage in there. Just minor adjustments for the steering linkage. And the best news was even the big fat oem starter was not held captive. And I did not have to run the 90* oil filter adapter.

AJ, that first sentence of which you posted .. ugh!
REALLY!!!!!

Any of the MoPar engines I have worked on that have gone from exhaust manifolds and singalnor dual exhaust to headers and better dual exhaust have picked up significant seat of the pants power.

I have about $520 bucks into some ceramic coated Doug's, and that can be had all day long(almost)

If you wait, sometimes you can find a sale and get $100 - $200 off a set of dougs....

They're always offering 20% off orders over $100 bucks shipped to your house. It took me three tries. The first two stated that the item was unavailable and the third time it went through.

I bought my nickle plated TTI's in 99 for 495US. By the time you added exchange, delivery, local taxes, import fees, etc ......... I was still exstatic to r

Well for all I know the engine is dead stock, he doesn't say. Then I go on to list my results. And finally I list some great points about the TTIs.

Perhaps my English could be better.
Why are you always picking on me?

I'm thinking of buying either the raw or coated Doug's D453 from AutoZone for either $352ish raw or $502 ceramic with the 20% discount. Three tries huh? How long did it take to get them?

The header coating, FWIW, will reduce underhood temps by a huge margin. I was just watching a popular hotrodding video were Steve Dulich (sp?) took a heat gun to the coated header at 180-200 degrees IIRC & the uncoated was something like 700-800 degrees.

Your carb is sucking down the underhood air. Might as well be cooler air when and if ever possible. So if ya got the coin.....
