Hi! I am new here from Illinois, actually this will be my first build! I quit drinking, got married and needed a hobby and I have always wanted a Dodge Dart ever since high school, so I bought a rough 1970 Swinger. Any advice for a new guy is highly appreciated! I have a bit of a learning curve being my first build but lots of enthusiasm and plenty of time. It's not pretty, but it's mine! :)

Looks like a good project. Welcome from Colorado!

Welcome from another Illinoisian...... LOL Looks like a fun project

Welcome! So we shall see a Lawnart become a Lawn Dart?... :) Pun Intended,... 383 is a nice build, check out Schumacher, for bolt in mounts, without changing a slant 6/ small block K member...(Yes, they are different, using a 383 low deck,"over a 440 RB..." makes headers/ exhaust manifolds MUCH EASIER...to deal with.)

Welcome to the club! Great project car to start on. Be sure to get it running before your first child comes along..... or else it will be a long time until it's running!

Welcome from Iowa. Looks like a great place to start.

Welcome from California! This is a great place to find info, parts and support! Congrats on the wife and the drinking! Looking forward to seeing your progress through this project.

Thanks for the info, I got a v-8 K member a gentleman with a 64 383 and he said it would need different motor mounts also, so maybe it would just be easier to leave the 6 cylinder k member and change the motor mounts since I have to do it either way or would there even be a difference in changing to the v8 k?

Welcome from the sw burbs of chicago...

What part of IL are you in???

May be you could makee the trip to Dubuque in August for Mopars on the Mississippi.
