A Ram 150, that is a 3/4 ton truck? A 1500 is a half ton truck. A 150 is a half ton Ford.

Only post 1994. Dodge used 100,150,200,250,300,350,400 and 450 on trucks as far back as the 40s.

the first number establishes the tonnage.

1: 1/2 ton

2: 3/4 ton

3: 1 ton

4: 1.25 ton

5: commercial 1.5 ton or high (usually in grain trucks and dump trucks)
