Audiophiles....what setup are you using?
I am another lifelong audiophile. Back in the day, the best system I put together was MB Quart 6-1/2" in the doors, another set of MB Quarts in the rear pillars (this was in my Ram 2500) and a 12" Lanzer sub in a custom made box behind the seat. It was all multi amped for each individual driver with Sony power. It was a fantastic setup. For the Valiant, I went a different direction. I lost all hearing on one side about 10 years ago, so stereo separation is a moot point now. Since my car is being assembled as a sleeper, I wanted the stereo to be subtle. I made a custom mounting plate to put a pair of 4” drivers in the single dash hole for the front channel, added a pair of 6x9’s in the rear, and a single DIN head unit where some moron cut the original dash tabs out from the factory radio. It’s a pretty good setup but it does need some help with the bottom end once I get the suspension/brakes/steering updates wrapped up.
