Opinion question: I have a '64 Valiant that is red with bright red interior. I want to get it repainted as inexpensively as possible by Maaco. Does anyone have an opinion on what shade of red would look sharp and unique and at the same time compliment the red interior? I've seen pictures on the internet of a 'bright red' '64 Valiant with red interior, which appeared an orange/red. I really liked the color, just not sure if it's an optical illusion (lighting issues, etc.)

Look at Chrysler High Performance Red...

Go to your local paint store and have a look at their paint chips and pick out the red you like - it might not even be a Chrysler color! Be forewarned red seems to be the most expensive color!

The Cherry Red ala the 65 Barracuda may be your original color. Your interior is designed to go with this red. I would stay with the original color red.

For Maaco you need to find a red that is used on a current that is close to your original color or a color you like.
I know in Michigan in the winter they have half off the price usually .
Maaco can do a really good job applying the paint but the final results depends on the prep work.
So if you can do most/all of the prep yourself and remove the trim it should be worthwhile.

And check this out:
