My other favorite part of the show......

I like the American flag in the background and that was probably like a second round practice pass cuz you could tell the clouds were starting to back off. It was hotter than the hinges of Hades yesterday and it was nice and cool this morning and then the clouds parted way to a beautiful day and pretty hot again. If you could find some shade there was a nice breeze though and it was helpful. Well helpful in some cases but it was a Tailwind which was nice but it made you want to break out and made the car too fast two times.

Check out this guy! Cutting a light!

It was good times by all! My boys started working on their project cars as soon as we got back home from their. Lol, I think next year we will be part of the races and not just spectators. And of course get a spot for the 5th wheel with the a/c cranked up. Found a few items that I needed for the big block duster project. Got me a killer mopar nationals t-shirt too. Lol, and we all left there with a little more sun burn than we showed up with.

Oh man those corn dogs are delicious. That 63 dart with the makuni carbs has been at the show off and on for years. It's pretty rad set up he's from down here lane county. Thanks for the pics guys. Dustin

I was there in the swap meet section. Sold a lot of stuff and was too busy selling parts all day to even walk around. Tim (original owner of the famous Red Valiant) was in the booth with me helping me sell stuff and so was Paul from Gray's Automotive. We had three booths and we were hopping all day long.

There's easily hundreds more cars that should be showing up to this event. It would be nice next year to start a buzz going about this locally with the local clubs and whip up a few more Mopars that don't see enough people. It would be nice if they could maybe make some kind of larger purse for the super pro and encourage more of the real real fast stuff for the weekend. And speaking of the weekend it would be nice if on Saturday they could have not necessarily an all Mopar deal but something that would encourage staying the entire weekend and having some classes for people to run on the day before, maybe one of the Nostalgia classes and maybe one of the modern muscle classes? Just spitballing ideas to make a really good event absolutely great. Like Saturday night Some Kind of Night of Fire or something cool like that?!

Hey- and everybody who got some good swap meet stuff posting some pictures of your good finds is cool also...
I could only break away for small amounts of Time Racing the car. They were giving us an extra run so we had to be paying attention. I was able to pick up two throttle cables and a oval ring for the base of the 4 speed shifter it was all rusty but it was something I could sand and paint $5 total LOL But I got something !

I bought one of the nicest steering wheels I've ever had in all the years I've had Mopars. It's all wrapped up in bubble wrap for the flight home tomorrow. I'll post some pics when I get home tomorrow night.

I was expecting a lot more cars there, especially for the show and shine. Only about half the people I know from the PDX Mopar Muscle club that said they were going to be there showed up. Not sure how many people from Pentastar Pride showed up, they had their Mopar only car show on Saturday. I wasn't able to make it, but heard that their numbers were down too. I didn't see any modern Darts at all, even though a lot of the PNW Darts guys said they were going to be there to either show or race (they don't show up then complain about not getting respect.. grrr. Gotta show up to get respect). I only know of two front wheel drive Mopars that were in the car show, my wife's Avenger and another Avenger. It was good seeing a couple Neons go down the track.
But, yes, as soon as we find out the dates for next year, it needs to get promoted as the most important Mopar event ever in the history of ever.

I didn't pick anything up from the swap meet (although I think my wife spent $20 on gatorade). I was selling. I got rid of some Mopar collectable stuff that was doing nothing but collecting dust. I was also selling some Mopar stickers that I make. Sold a bunch of them.

Hey I remember seeing those stickers in a booth I wish I would have known it was you. I know that dealership in Salem puts on a big show the day before and I know at the beginning of Summer Up in or above Seattle they have a spring Roundup that's pretty big I went to back in the early 2000s. And I know the local Dodge dealership has one towards the end of the summer in Gresham. But this one is the only car show swap meet and drag races it should be attended.
There was quite a few Spectators compared to just coming to Woodburn for like when I do the whole in the hood or something there will only be about 10 people in the stands at the most. It's nice to come back down the return Lane and have a crowd of people giving you the thumbs up and kind of thanking you for being out there and putting on a show. I'll try and rev the motor up and wave to people who are waving at me and giving me the thumbs up. I could tell most were into it and having a good time. It was one of the better years actually.

Was that the car show at the casino where Mark Worman was?

Also bought a hood ornament for my 65 belvedere, two dart swinger quarter panel emblems, a Plymouth t-shirt and three world famous corn dogs!

Here is a time slip from my car on Sunday morning. 430 ci 340 foot break car. Weather was hot.

I bought a steering column trim piece, window defrost vents and a nice mopar nationals t shirt. All in I spent $27 on parts. My son picked up a pair of old school sbp cragers with all n.o.s chrome lug nuts. He paid $90 for those. I'll add a pic of them. He has already wrapped them in new rubber and got them on the car. I'm buddies with the guy that started the penstar pride Salem club. He is the parts manager at Roberson motors. Super nice guy, told both my sons to come work for him at the dealership. I'll let him know we need more guys to show up at the Woodburn event.
