2 different engines, 2 different balancers
pulley center cracks and tosses the pulley
all bolts are still tight
only running single belt > alt and water pump
Why ?

would going to an aluminum (thicker flange ) help
I'm running out of spare pulleys
only shift @ 5800

eng #1 pulley lasted 62 passes
eng #2 lasted 48 passes

both engines are strokers / balanced
other than tossing the pulley still run great

early crank pulleys had a doubled mounting surface . just to be safe , double up your next one with a doubled mounting surface , and what water pump are you running ?

holy sheet metal batman, I think I see remnants of a pulley under those bolt heads.
Something there doesn't look eccentric/centered also. I don't know what difference that would make other than offset in pulley requiring overtightening the belt, which would likely bounce no matter how tight. Bolt circle in your balancer off centered? or just optical illusion in photo angle?
At second glance, it sort of looks like the pulley was captured underneath the center bolts washer.

Belts are too tight, to much pull on the pulley. It's also bad for the front crank bearing.

never had an issue with the later waterpump set up . just the iron waterpump pulleys . do you loosen the belt when dragging the car , the old boys would keep the crank pulley from grabbing the belt hard , make it slip .

yes, full time drag car
belt loose enough to squeal like a pig, leaving the line

How are the flywheel and engine mount bolts? Usually if it's harmonics you'll find other stuff loosening up. I agree tho.... very odd problem to have once, let alone twice.

I broke one like that. It was rusty, i went with a march pulley. No issues yet. Check your dampener. Mine started showing those black streaks before the ring slipped. I just thought it was oil so I didn't pay attention to it. Then while working on it I brushed the dampener and the ring moved! Doh! See how the streaks start at the elastometric line.

Here is just a thought, I had a 68 dart that had the same problem. I finally figured it out. I did what they call a run out test. Its where the trans or bell housing is not aligning up with the block. I had to install offset alignment pins. I got the idea from my mopar chassis book.

update....

found the pulley,...lol
after pulling the engine, one bolt was missing, two on either side were loose.

I may had not tightened them ???
due to trying different pulleys to get proper alignment..???

The first engine, had the balance checked, was there when compared the old balance card to
to the present card.
they were the same.
crank spun to spec.

So I'm going to give it a second chance.
new bearings, oil pump and tube, checked the spring pressure, used a thinner Cometic head gasket.
going to run the Neal chance converter,
send the other one back for clean /check and check balance.
