1980 833 fit in 75 a-body?

I'm looking to get a a833 but it's out of a 1980 full size pick up. I'm wondering if it'll work in my 75 dart swinger a-body. It had 4 speed in it originally but someone put an auto in it. I just don't know if that truck tranny will work. Thanks in advance
 
Yes, it will work, but not without some fab work. The shifter will need to be relocated and the driveshaft will need to be shortened. The shifter is in a completely different location than an A body and the truck tail shaft is longer. Also, that transmission is an A833 overdrive unit.

Ok thanks, yea I don't want to be shortening my drive shaft
 
If you wanted to run the truck 833 OD (assuming the truck has an 833OD and not an NP435), you'd need to do the modifications outlined here B/E body four-speed in an A-body

It can be done, but it does take some fab work.
