So, when we decided to build a big block duster starting with a /6 car, we knew we would have to upgrade to an 8.75 rearend. Didn't really think about bolt pattern when we saw an A-body 8.75 rearend with Richmond 4.11 sure grip came up cheap in our area. It was out of a '71 340 duster and our car is a '73 bbp. I know, we should have swapped bbp axles into the housing. But it slipped by and now we have mixed bolt patterns. So we hit up the mopar nationals meet and found a pair of sbp cragers with all the correct lug nuts. And picked up a set of 4 bbp cragers from a guy local selling them. They are used, but in decent shape overall with some pitting and rust. What do you think?

needs bigger tires in the rear, at least bigger than the fronts !

Here's what i would do (and did):
Get a '68-'70 B-Body housing with axles and brakes complete minus center section.
Move the spring pads inward about an inch on both sides.
Install your center section.
Swap rear ends and sell the A-Body one complete minus center section for a profit.
Use your other BBP Cragars with the biggest tires you can get for them or even better yet, get some 15'' Cragars with around 255 60 15 tires and roll the inner quarter lips in. (easy)
This will fill the wheel wells nicely and give you a wider track on the back to match the BBP wider front track.
I used factory 15X6 1/2 rallye wheels on the back of my Dart Sport with 255 60 15 tires and 002 and 003 Super Stock springs and it looks good IMHO.
The fronts are 205 70 14's.

I had a similar problem, but the real issue is the spare. I solved that by buying one dual bolt pattern steel wheel that fit the front and back bolt pattern.

Looks workable to me other than the previously mentioned spare tire issue. I do not see how anybody can discern the difference in BP size between front and back unless you got close. But are the fronts 15's and back 14's? Looks kinda like it but may be just a photo illusion. If so I think getting some 15 inch a SBP Cragars for the rear would give the Duster a better look IMHO.

Why is the spare a problem? Your front and rear tires are no where near the same height. If you've got a limited slip rear in that axle your spare has to be the same height as your rear tires, which would be too tall to fit the front anyway. So the bolt pattern would be pretty irrelevant.

Actually the fronts are smaller and the rear tires are 29" so I had to compromise. I hate driving around with a "spare" tire so i bought a tire the same height as the rear (posi) knowing that it will also work in front (dual pattern) just to get me home or to the nearest tire shop. But I'll probably never use it since I have road side service anyway (emergency use)....it's just a back up system.

I cant get a spare in my trunk at all- rear roll cage bars ruin that .

I agree it needs bigger tires in the rear. My wife and I have been bugging him to mini tub. I think once he realizes he has zero traction with that big block he will come around.

I'm with Treblig. I'm going to wind up with BBP in the rear and SBP in the front due to the addition of a 9" Ford. I was thinking a flat centered wheel like the old Jackman Wheels with both bolt patterns as the spare. It's just a spare.

Nice looking GT, I like the rallye wheels on there. Also glad to see that we aren't the only running around with bbp upfront and sbp out back. Lol.
