Hello all. I want to remove the stereo from my 72 swinger. Its a panasonic am fm tape player. I think it is causing my battery drain. I pullled the fuse which also kills my signal lights and the drain is gone. The stereo just plays tapes and has very poor reception so its gotta go. There is a square hole sawn out just enough to expose the ce and the knobs go through the factory doughnut molded dash spots
What way should i go to tear it out. Do I have to take out the heater box out under the dash? Anybody have photos they cpild share. Im looking for the easy oute if there is one.
Thanks

I take it you have the a.c. option and therefore a large condenser looking metal box front and center under the dash....

Pull the knobs, take out the glove box and go at it from the side.

Thanks for the quick reply. I haven't thought about the heater controls plate for an extraction path. Ill post pics when i do it for future mopar butchers / mechanics.
Cheers!

I first responded directly to the thread title, then read more and edited my post.
It's not a stock radio and you have ac..? So I would open the glove box, remove cardboard insert screws and pull it out...then reach in and to my left for the radio harness and any other crap that needs taken loose to pull the radio back towards and out the glovebox.
