Hey guys, been away for a while and haven't been posting, been so damn busy!

I was removing a crank bolt and stopped the motor by using a wrench in a flexplate hole, well it slipped a bit and made a dent in one of the holes. I'm not sure if it's bad enough to pull the trans and replace it. I'll definitely be more careful next time!

I can definitely feel it with my finger, I'd say it's about 1/16th of an inch towards the converter in that one spot, and no material was removed. It's a neutral balance converter and Flexplate.

Just dress it out nice and smooth with a fine file followed by some 400 grit paper. It will be just fine unless you are making lots of power and launching on slicks..... in which case you should have an aftermarket SFI flexplate.

I'm making around 380-400hp, so nothing crazy. I'm most worried about it being out of balance and messing up the trans or main bearings.

Honestly..... in my opinion, that amount of metal is so minute that it exceeds the difference in the weights of the converter bolts, or metal that gets chewed off the ring gear teeth, or road dirt that accumulates in the front pulley over the years. I dont mean to sound sarcastic but i think that you are over thinking this..... but that is just my opinion, perhaps someone else will chime in.

I wouldn't even waste time dressing it.

Is it actually just pushed over or is it bent in or out a bit. If bent I'd definitely change it.U don't want the converter wobbling around. Kim

The little circled spot is the only bent part. The flexplate as a whole is still straight. Maybe a better word is it got dimpled a bit. The converter wouldn't wobble, starter sounds nice and even, but I can't start it because it's apart until my new balancer comes in.
