Aghhhhhh ok, no problem on the kick panels and lemme get the glove boxes done. Do you want to wait for both GB and KP or do you want the KP asap? 2 will fit into one box hopefully Ill check tonight.(after 10 and let all of us go to a conversation (PM) to help me clean this thread up)

got it, I'm working as fast as I can on that darn glove box. it'd driving me crazy trying to get it really good looking. kick panels are ready.

if you have extra thick padding on the carpet in that area , well it's tight with dynamat and carpet with 3/8" jute under it.

That's brilliant! I love it when people research things, and do things that nobody else has done. If you ever get to a point where you are selling, I'm interested in buying, although I am in Australia so hope you can help...I was always wanting a copy of the later model A's glove box liner. I knew that originally we (63-66) A owners had a molded glove box liner but it was made from paper! that sucks, since I live in Florida where paper and moisture sort of don't mix too well. So here is my latest attempt for a remedy. It's not perfect yet (overheated the plastic and got bubbles in it, miss-located a hole and had little bit of webbing to work with and a ***** of a time getting it off the mold) but hey it FITS and won't fall apart!

in this pic you can see the hole I missed on (right upper screw dang it 1/8th off) and the small web on the same side lower corner. but it fits,works and WON'T fall apart in moist weather.

I am happy with it as a good part right now. But I'll continue to fix the webbing issues since I am going in the right direction finallyinstead of just burning up plastic!

I'm getting close to being able to make another test run for a "hopeful " final test . these simple rectangle boxes were a pain in the rear to get to fit right and look good without webbing. If I can make some (again)without the webbing they will be good to go..
it's taking a fair bit of time since I'm in the middle of building a 3 bay pole barn for the finished cars(or mobile cars waiting on work) . I have no room in the original garage to work if I don't move 1 or 2 cars out.
I am working (3-4 days a week) with an interior builder for early 60's Linclons that informed me of a "container shipper" that might be able to ship parts over to Australia without breaking the bank. they fill a container with misc. orders going there and when it's full they ship the container(slow and cheaper). So everyone that has an order is cheaper than the normal means.
I can look into that as a shipping method if needed.

I'm in absolutely no rush for them, in fact the original one is near perfect, but I can tell it is fragile, so I know that one day I will need one. Your suggestion of the container is an option, although one of the Members on this site helped me out a couple of months ago with 2 x Cake Tin air cleaners for slant six, from Florida, by air mail and I thought the cost was quite reasonable.
I suppose if/when you reach that stage we could re-think the freight and see what the costs are?

I'll have to look into that , thanks. BTW the box that It (the glovebox) will fit into is a 6"x9"x12" and it's snug weighing about 2lb total for mailing purposes. Now all I have to do is reliably make more than one! %#$%#% unbelievable painful process to make right!

WHEW! it's been a while since I was able to get back to molding the glove box. I finally got a web free one (or at least in the areas I need it web free.) now to figure out how to cut it out and reshape the top edge a bit so it looks good. I had to modify it a bit and didn't get it as square as I'd like but that's next now that I can get a web free design off the vacuum former. so Glove boxes are coming soon! YAY! since I need 2 of them anyway.

Thanks, glad you like the kick panels and glad the dynamat worked out. Another run of them is in the offing. I'm getting my money together to order more plastic/ABS so I can prototype some other goodies I need for my car. Plus a secret project that I hope I can make work since I really need a new one. here is a hint of the mold in progress.
That looks like a dash pad cover! Those would be a welcome addition also.

Actually it's the mold for a dash pad core (metal part) I'm testing the possibility of me making my own dash pads from the very first part to the last piece. We'll see it I can actually get the process I want to use to work.

Man, if you could make a dash pad that was actually, you know, a pad, I'd be very interested in that. I bought an original dash pad for my Valiant and immediately sold it again because the fact that it's just metal with a piece of vinyl over it is pointless when it comes to offering any safety at all.

Count me in on a set of kick panels ans a glove box when you have everything worked out. No hurry for me. I'm just now getting my car mounted on my rotisserie.

I'll start a new for sale thread when I get them finished. I'm close to being satisfied with the glove box, just a few more tweaks. now all I need to do is fins and elusive glove box light setup to test fit it to the repop unit.
