Did you ever want to move?

-
I was born and raised in Cape May NJ. I miss it. Been in Florida for 32 years. Kind of tired of it. But, as they say everything is timing. Have to wait just a little longer.

Grew up in Maryland. 45 years there. It's just like California, politically.cold, crowded, too many people. Moved to Florida 13 years ago. Nowhere else I want to be. Summer is too hot, but the rest of the year is fine.

I have been in Michigan for 63 years, I love the change of seasons even though all four seasons can sometimes happen in the same day. I never slow down to 60 in the snow, no need to. I would never consider moving, I was born here and will check out here. I love the state of Michigan, and what we call UP-NORTH.
Bob

Born in eastern Washington. Like two states here divided by the summit of the Cascade Mountains, west side blue, east side red.
I like it here and never want to be too far from the ocean. I would like to live on the Olympic peninsula but at my age I will
stay on the red side of the state and travel to the ocean.

I did the California desert for 20 yrs, in my youth. It was a great place to grow up. A little thing called SLC6, that would have been the polar orbit launch complex for the space shuttles brought me to the central Ca coast. The desert is no picnic. I'm still amazed every time I visit, and there are still places out there I haven't explored. I just have no desire to be there on a daily basis. My dad and mom had it right when we were kids, they had a place at the beach to escape to on pretty much every summer weekend. When the required racing fix demands a consistent drive of more than across the valley to the dirt oval, I'll consider moving.

Man, this thread is the story of my life right now. Lol. I'm originally from Oklahoma but have been in the Los Angeles area for about twenty years now. And boy am I ready to leave.....
As I get older, I have less and less tolerance for the crowds here. Traffic at 10 pm, on the weekend, etc. too much for this Okie.
I'd go back to ok if the wife would have it but, no go. I think we'll end up in Oregon sooner than later. Not in a city though, no way. I went up to woodburn recently for the mopar show/race and was really impressed with that area. Nice people too. We have good friends in Portland and she wants to work in Salem. Hopefully we can find a spot in a rural area somewhere in between the two.
I'll miss a lot of good people in socal but it's just too much for me now. The lack of drag strips is ridiculous for such a large city. Hopefully the crazy real estate market doesn't bottom out any time soon. Our house has increased 30% in value in the last 4 years. Insane. At least I'll have some options some where cheaper.

Outa Illinois. Just dropped off a load near my new house in Rogers, Ar. Almost 90 degrees, but who cares? It's not Illinois. If it isn't hot enough here for me, I just go stay at my condo in Boulder City.

I'd like to move further north in mn. Alexandria area. Below zero and snow in the winter means snowmobiling and ice fishing. Summers camping, swimming and fishing.

I was born in Florida (1957), Keep going back;
had a place in Tampa/ Clearwater, sold it in 2011 >to crowded.
going back to the gulf in a few weeks to look at another property.
Then the hard part> getting rid of a 30 year collection of mopar.
Trying to decided between 2 cars, which one to keep/play with
of course, keep the Harley.

funny it started out, fishing, then being on different boats, I have been offered mechanical work on the diesels. pay is good, plus the fishing
Then
got hooked on "deep sea" fishing
Like the boat name
Just "B" Cause

The way I look at it, My hearing loss is getting worse, along with my eye sight (Being around race engines and welding)

Just strap me in a seat > Hand me the pole.....Fish ON....

this pic was in June this year

Yes, Atlanta was unrecognizable from what it was in '83 when I moved there and I hated it, no one there was depending on me so I moved outside of Charleston four years ago, quality of life is good here overall, some obnoxious people but that is everywhere today I think. Don't be afraid to move unless it will harm your family.

Ft Worth / Dallas all 65 years... it's too effing hot 3 to 4 months... winters are generally nice. Will be here till the end
