Steering wheel not right

Just put new pitman arm in Dart, went for spin and car steers much better. Old arm was pretty warn out and loose. Anyway I noticed my steering wheel isn't lined up correctly now when I'm going straight, it's off a quarter of a turn. Do I need to remove pitman arm and rotate over one click? There's four groove's that line up with steering gear, is it possible I'm one off? Or is this a alignment issue for the shop? 2nd picture is where it's at going down road. I'll check back later, thanks

Did u put it back on in the same place as the old 1? Try counting how many turns left of center then how many to the right. Let us know the answers. Kim
 
The car may have been aligned to the sloppy condition of the old pitman arm.
No, you could NOT be 90 degrees off on the pitman. To do that, your steering range would be seriously limited to one side while all the way past the stops to the other direction!
 
Actually, he can be off that much. SOME aftermarket pitman arms have FOUR different positions that they can be installed in, denoted by four master keyways across from one another. It would have no effect on the steering range, because all it would do is turn the wheel to a different position, like he is experiencing.
 
This is a typical aftermarket Mopar pitman arm. It has four distinct master keys that I have circled. It can be installed in four different positions, each will position the steering wheel correctly, 90* off either way, or 180* off and will retain the same steering range as if installed correctly.

Took car to shop, and they adjusted toe in, out and what ever else was needed and straightened it right out. Will have to drive this weekend and see how much better steering is. thanks everyone
