I asked for an agreed value of 30k, which it would cost to replace if I had to do it again.
I can understand if that number was the only issue, but the underwriters refused to insure it as an Antique/Classic for ANY value!!
They said it was due to the paint condition.
WTF??

Here are the pics and video I sent them.

I'm sure it has to do with the 30K you want to insure it for. I've ran into the same thing with Hagerty. I want 20K on my 69 Dart and 30K on my 68 Barracuda. They look up the value and said they could only cover the Dart for 15K, the Barracuda was ok for 30K.

I use JC Taylor for my Duster. Wasn't asking for nearly as much coverage, but they've been very easy to work with and reasonable rate.

No, my agent talked to an underwriter and asked if she could resubmit at a lower value and they told her NO.

Roy, could you post a pic each of those two cars?

You need to find another State Farm agent. My Dart is currently with State Farm and my paint is no where near perfect. Been with them for 11 years now. Next month I'm changing to Hagerty for both cars due to more coverage for a lower premium.

I had the Scamp insured with State Farm with a value of $15,000.00 before I sold it last week, and I still have the Barracuda insured with State Farm valued at $18,000.00 no questions asked. All my agent asked me for were pictures of both sides, pictures of the front and back, of the engine compartment, and also the interior. Because I have everything I own insured through State Farm my policies were about $133.00 for 7 months.

If anyone else has State Farm on their cars, please post pics and agreed value also.
Thanks!

here are some pictures of my 69 Dart currently insured by State Farm. Currently insured for 10K. But they had no problem with me wanting to up it to 20K recently. But as I was telling you. I'm going with Hagerty to insure the Dart And my Barracuda because the rate is less.

I got a quote from Hagarty once, then a few days later they came back and said they couldn't offer uninsured motorist coverage.
This is TEXAS, I need that coverage.

They are requiring me to send a declaration page showing my other vehicles coverage. I mean our everyday drivers.

Wonder why they can't get that info themselves?
The State Farm agent was able to tell me all about my current coverage on both my cars with Progressive.

Why does insurance have to be such a PITA?

I don't know? This is the first time buying insurance on the net. But I do plan on taking my Hagerty quote to my State Farm agent and see what they can do as far as matching the coverage and rates. I'd much rather deal locally and have a agent I can shake hands with.

Hagarty won't ensure a classic car unless you have more cars than you have drivers. In other words they don't want you using the classic car as your daily driver or as a work car.
I think Allstate will ensure almost any car with pics (they did with me).

State Fuxxxxx Farm just did you a HUGE favor. Stat Fuxxxxx Farm is a screw and they will screw you. I just got nailed by someone with State Fuxxxxx Farm liability and they Fuxxxx me every way you can think of, and in way more ways that one.

For one, there IS NO adjuster. They have "teams" which you CALL "somewhere else" on the phone. These "teams" are a bunch of no name somebodies without real identification, so you can't pin anyone "real" down, nor can you document it, because they AVOID email and INSIST on the phone.

When they "bought" my Ranger, they ACTUALLY EXPECTED ME TO ALLOW THEM TO TOW IT OFF AS I WAVED BYE, THEN EXPECTED ME (NO ****) TO POP MY TITLE INTO A MAILER THEY SENT AND SEND THEM THE TITLE!!!! NO!!! NO!!! AND FUXX NO!!!!!!!!!!

State effin' Farm

I insisted, and they FINALLY sent their paperwork to a local agent, then I took the title up there and collected the check. THEN the tow guy came and dragged it off. Of course they know they screwed me "just enough" that noway could I hire a lawyer for the difference. I figure I gave up at least a grand and a half on this "deal."

Pickup was a 98 with only 85K. Loaded, big cab, cruise, AC, limited slip, nice REALLY nice shape, electric windows, locks, od mirrors, there were few options you could have added when it was new. I was figuring on this being "the keeper" til I died or could not drive any more

I'm lost here? They paid you for your Ranger and wanted the truck and tittle? I'm not seeing the problem?

I have the car in my avatar insured for 25k through country.

That's about as high as they would go without me getting it appraised.

I'm going through a situation right now with a company, a guy rear-ended my 71 dart, and they want to total it, they decided my actual value of my car was about 5500...going to have to fight this one, as it's insured through my own company for a agreed value of 12k

Sound like nightmare, any pics of the car before and after?

Agree, find another Agent. Have all my cars with State Farm. They even insure my Ralt RT4 and Corvette Challenge car when in storage and when being transported to and from the track.

I live in TX, Grundy has uninsured and underinsured on my policy. They have been very good to deal with. I do need to up my coverage........

Not sure what all that means however I would recommend get a policy that states declared value. May be a bit more hassle and extra cost to get a appraisal but then you know exactly where you stand.

One thing you have to understand about all insurance companies is they go by statistics and credit score.
I went thru this year's ago trying to insure my house when my credit score was low.... I guess they thought I was going to burn my house down to pay bills...
When you ask too much for the value they just say no way if you credit score ain't perfect.....
maybe more red flag for them.
Do you own your house?
Are you married?
Do you drag race your vehicle ?
Here is appraisal ed value...hit scroll at bottom to see alll...

Bet you could ask a married friend with stellar credit and own home and they (state farm ) would say yes.
