FITECH EFI TUNING tips, info sharing, ideas, settings, etc...

Just a little update it's been a while, I have the 1200 PA/ on my stock 400 with 15# of boost I beat on this thing for a couple of months. I had no issues with it bolted it on set the parameters, she fired up after warm up the only thing I changed was the boost target A/F. I drove it around for about 50 miles then started leaning on it with boost and watching A/F meter I have two one in the dash and the Fitech they both stayed close to gather. This system works pretty good I am now in the process of getting my 451Cu motor done and back in this should be interesting.
I have A1000 pump with 13201 regulator, 7531 MSD for timing and ignition, Fitech only controls fuel injection, My fuel pump and fan is still controlled manually with a switch.

Got a few things to add I put trans brake it the car and make a few passes on the third pass I it broke the spider gears but it was just stock sure grip and gears.the Fitech is working great.

Got a few hundred miles on my scamp now. Runs nice under normal conditions. But I don't like how hard the gas pedal is to push and I've tried a few times to jump on it and it dies. But starts right back up. Any suggestions ?

Check the air/fuel ratio when you get on it. You may need to change your accel pump settings. Mine would backfire and sometimes die, until I put more fuel into the accel pump.

Are you running any kind of return spring? I have a very light one on it and pedal seems very hard to push at first.

Well I played around with the settings today. Got the IAC set to 5-6 and the idle is about 825 to 850 rpm. But now it runs worse than before. It wants to stall when I drive it and try to give it gas just on normal driving.

Don't know how I missed this but the 73 Demon Dart I bought this past spring had the 600HP EFI installed. I've had some running issues but most of them are ironed out now. I'll post my "info" page later tonight.

anyone figure out how to run a stock distributor mag pickup with the Fitech and still have timing control? is should be capable of controlling the timing with the distributor locked down and a phaseable rotor right?(anyone find one ?) it sure would save a bunch of money vs a new distributor.

Yeah, I was hoping someone knew of a rotor for it. sure would be cheaper than a new dizzy
As seen on the other fitech thread, for the ga-billion-zillionth time...an oem distributor is not worth farting around with, as you will have nothing but issues, become frustrated with the system, and ultimately end up buying a pro-billet anways. We have sold probably 2500-3000 of these since inception. I have had like 3 guys ever luck out and get one to work with an oem Distributor, and that's WITHOUT timing control even. asking for trouble.

exactly.. And I tried for a long time, then bought the right distributor.. NO issues since.

I run a stock distributor right now. My engine is pretty much stock. Im not trying to get big hp numbers. What are the problems guys are having with a stock distributor? Should I get something else?

that .2% of them work ever, and its just by chance. Mostly due to electronic noise/interference. I suggest reading the other fitech thread, as this one appears to be for tuning tips.
Don't screw up your $1500 efi system by trying to save $175 on a distributor.

The cost of a distributor doesn't bother me. What does is spending money on something that I dont need. Do you think that I need one ??
