71 Dart 410 stroker ..

My water pump turns on and off by itself as does my cooling fans. Two less things to think about at the starting line. Water pump turn on at 160 degrees and cooling fan come on at 185 Degrees.

Out here in Vegas we keep an eye on that water temp.....and with the electric fan and water pump....they cooled off....plus with the e85 helps....this dart has a 26 inch aluminum radiator in it...you don't want to get in a burn down with it...lol

I have never had a heating issue with this new motor, but then again, 89 Degrees is a heat wave around here.

Got back to work on the Dart tonight....almost ready to fire new engine....missing hose clamp for lower radiator hose and one bolt that hold on the shifter bracket on the tranny ...amazing..lol

It was only 100 by the time I got done just before noon...had to change oil in a couple of vehicles....

The starter always has to come out of there If the headers are left in the engine bay...I unbolted the starter and left it laying there...and it jammed between the engine and headers was would not let the engine come out.....so much for saving time and not just letting the starter drop...as the wiring is set up to allow that...dud...

is that a one wire alternater if so do you like it . the reason I ask is I am looking for one

yes..it is a one wire alternator....it actually has a small voltage regulator on it...I have had no problem with it keeping the battery charges..

This thread is killing me! As in I'm dying to see this get done and run! Totally stoke bro!

me too...the small **** is killing me....the threaded drain plugs on each side of the engine is leaking water...changed plugs...Teflon tape...they still leak........finally got one sealed...working on the driver side...and of course the god dam header are in the way.....

was ready to start it couple of days ago...added water...and bingo...leak...

Still got a couple of weeks...Sept 8 is TnT

Still got to put that sublime green duster back together before then.....

Ok...no more water leaking.....headers are back on...valve covers tighten.....

I was told by the Driver I can not fire the engine without her......So it is Wednesday after work......

well...crapola....Wednesday evening we tried to fire engine and it will not spin...thought batteries were dead...but i just charged them a week or so ago....so we put charger on ...and say tomorrow....

I go by the garage in the morning since I am working a mile away from it....batteries charged...still will not spin...ok....i put a big racket on it...and it barely turns.....ok....WTF.....ok...engine turned great before it was in car....

We ran the fuel pump...i check the carb...and rear rear bowl is empty.... so is there fuel in the cylinders....pull the plugs...all are wet...hit the starter button....spits out fuel ......leave the plugs out.....to dry out....

come back in evening....decided to pull the dipstick...you can smell the fuel.....drain the oil ....and decided to let is sit over night will pan bolt out...and valve cover breathers out.....Tomorrow....LOL

BTW....Tuesday I took the carb apart and cleaned it with brake cleaner...reassembled it...and...tonight I am looking on the work bench and there is the reddish gasket....and only these E85 carbs use those gaskets.... my dumb *** left the rear metering block gasket out..

Oh ****! Sorry but I LOL at that one. We all do it! But at least you have found the culprit.

Finally got the ok to fire the engine....she had the video rolling and it lit on the 1st crank...Ran if for 15 minutes...then checked valves....had one exhaust a little loose....

Backed it out of the garage this afternoon ...put in it new trailer.......

Need to check timing one more time at track....used my old Craftsman dial back....on the msd 7....just want to double check..

We got an electrical problem in the start system....got out to the track started up a couple of times in the staging lanes...and then...click..click...

both batteries are fully charged....brought it home...going to check all the cables...cleans all the terminals......

and then the thunderstorm hit......

worked on in this morning before heading out.......motor turns over by hand....starter just clicks...
removed starter from engine and hit button...starter just clicks....LOL....

starter system is getting completely rewired....parts ordered....

:(You can do everything right, not cut any corners. And that bastage can still, sneak up and bit your Arss.:D
Hope you get it all figured out before the next race.

3 car, 3 tows, 3 Trailers, everything is hard to keep going, when your a one man gang bang ! But Man Tony gives it hell !!!!! Happy for you on the new best in the other ride.... :)
