1964 426 wedge

Some reading for fun...

Stage I, Stage II, Stage III Max Wedge

I am still not endorsing this as anything but a wedge....gets confusing in 1964 to me.
It does. 64 is the weird year. Once they introduced the Hemi , the max wedge died rather instantly. So in a budget move, they took some of the 426 Max wedge blocks that were already cast and simply used them in standard 426 wedges. They did the same to the 413 max wedge blocks when the 426 max wedge came out. That's why it's important to verify it has both the correct block casting and the AAQA. Some max wedge blocks also got an S stamped but not all. However all Max Wedge blocks got the AAQA stampings.
