Needs more manifold

Nah, guys have made WAY more than I plan to make with stock junk. No need to spend unnecessary money. Don't get me wrong, I'd love the bling factor, but the gains are minimal on a lower powered combo like this. I only have a gen 3 motor, and those are the weaker ones. Maybe someday I'll upgrade to an aluminum gen 4 setup and shoot for 1000+rwhp. :D

Made some adjustments to my mounts to fit the headers that showed up today. Centered and leveled the engine pretty well. I think I got the transmission up into the general area it needs to be too. Gonna have to "adjust" the passenger fender a little, but nothing crazy. Time to order up some vbands, a flange, and a wastegate! :)

What is the engine you are using now?

This is what is considered a 5.3L generation 3 SBC or "LS" motor from a Suburban. Considering the aftermarket support and the proven power capacity of this platform, I couldn't say no. 600rwhp is a cakewalk. Once I upgrade the pistons and rods to the stock gen 4 stuff, it can support 1000+rwhp with stock everything except valvetrain.

Ahh, that's why I didn't recognize it. No judgements here. I don't blame you for using a brand x engine, especially when there are cheaper and more support for aftermarket goodies for them....
Still following your build! Good luck!

Decided to give the factory truck manifolds a try...looks like I may be in luck. Fortunately, they're made of cast steel instead of cast iron, so they weld very well. The rest of my hot side bends arrived today. Gonna slap some V bands on the manfolds and go to town! :)

Nice thing about these manifolds is that they weld really well. Got a little tig practice in. Had to cut an egr boss off to clear the steering stuff. :)

It's badass. I am going to do the same thing to my 74 dart. Need some Power to put the 325 tires and the dana 60 work. I'd really be interested in buying a set of those motor mounts off of you!

Got some work done on a crossmember to mount the transmission. I still have to figure out what to do about my torsion bar crossmember. I don't think welding it to the floor pan is gonna give it enough support.

Lol, it's been a year since my last update, but I've made some substantial progress. Engine is in and has made noise, turbo kit is done, trans is in, driveshaft is in. Just some odds and ends left, then I can start tuning then driving this junk! :)

I've been slowly picking away at this project on my lunch breaks, and it's almost ready to get tuned! Just a few odds and ends left to finish up. It's nice to not have to pump the carb a couple times to get it to cold start. :D
