I'm looking to go with an electric water pump for next racing season. I know Mezier makes a nice product, any other brands out there worthy?

The billet Moroso is also a nice unit and bolts right up. Have one on my car. With a good fan it cools adequately both on the street and at the track.
The Meziere is probably the best

I've been running the Summit one for the last year, absolutely no problems. On any of these pumps, don't count on the O rings to seal, you're going to need some RTV!
I can make a pass in 100 degree heat, pull into the pits at 210 water temp and run the pump and radiator fan and in 10-15 minutes the water is at 140 degrees!

What does your charging system consists of?

This is what i use

standard mopar alt.
Pull back into the pits, shut of eng put battery charger on. fan and pump temp controlled. A couple minutes and fan shuts off,10 minutes water pump shuts off.
Mine hasn't been tested in high heat.(90*f is a heat wave up here.)

Thanks! I have a small power master alternator, I'm planning to use the water pump that mounts in the housing or a remote pump.

These are great if you have the kind of water pump that has a removable pulley. The genIII hemi ones are press fit :-(

Schumacher battery charger. I don't run an alternator, so I need to charge batteries between rounds. I set it on 20 amps and charge+ run water pump&fan at the same time.
Lots of guys say you shouldn't do it that way, you should use a 2nd charger or spare battery to run the fan/pump. I will probably wire in a disconnect this off season and bring a smaller charger with me to the track. I have several in the garage.

Mine is probably the most inefficient way but it works.
1000w generation to power up a Schumacher 2/5/10 amp battery charger. If i'm making rounds, i put it on 10. all the rest, it is on 2 and shuts off when charged.
