Hello,

So my husband loved this car, bought it brand new in 1977 - a Plymouth Arrow GT. Then he got a company car and never drove it anymore, but couldn't part with it. It has 35K original miles. Now, 37 years later, it is just in his way, so I think he is ready to part with it (he's more interested in a place to park his beloved ZeroTurn). I don't think there were too many of these cars made, and I don't even know if this A-Body website is the right place to start looking, but if anyone can point us in the right direction to find this car a good home, please let me know.

Thank you!

I would think here is a good a spot as any. Post pics, as much documentation is going to help with your sale.
Welcome!

Thank you for your reply! It hasn't been moved in 18 years, so it needs a wash before I post any photos, for sure. I'll get back on this site after that. Thanks again!

Thank you, SSVDP! Enjoyed looking at the BringaTrailer website. Thanks for the suggestion!!

It's got a hemi! :)

There was a guy who did have one of those at the Mopar Nats one year back in the 80's with a supercharged 426 Hemi and his license plate was "SUICIDE"....

A local guy(CA.) has a late 80's built 1977 Pro Street Arrow ,with a healthy 372 in it. One of the first guys to go before the CARB/ARB engine swap inspector, got his stamped smog legal door tag ,in the early 90's. Still alive & registered, need to find some pictures.

I was being totally serious.
Hard to read the fine print...
"The GT standard engine is a 4 cylinder, overhead cam, hemi-head, 1600 cc "silent shaft" powerplant."
:D

All fun aside, I think its a cool little car, and rare to boot.

Idaho, rode in good one, stock. Feisty ,little spitfire, lol. I like small lightweight subcompacts ,;with RPM style engines. They are fun!

Lets see pics as it is dirty "barn find" condition!!
What colors is it?
Maybe interested?

Hi! Sure, we will take pictures with all the dust on it, too - the "before" pictures, although it is pretty sad to see. Husband used to roll it out to wash it now and then, but stopped doing that when the tires got iffy. It is copper colored with black and orange striped decals. That magazine picture posted above by "Idaho" is what it looks like (well, at least the last time he washed it). At least two tires are bad now, so we will need to replace the tires just to put her in the sun for a bath and photo session. He used to shine up all the engine parts, too, back then. I hope critters didn't move into the engine. We'll see when we open the hood, I guess. We always wrote in a book in the glovebox anything done with the car, every time we bought gas, etc., so that should still be in there. I remember the car was made to take either regular gas or unleaded, but he had always bought regular gas - he said something about "better for the valves". The last time we got gas would be recorded, so that was back when you could still buy regular gasoline. We drove it here when we moved (1996), but haven't driven it since then. The only thing missing from the car right now is the battery.

Thank you all for your interest and comments! This is an interesting site with lots of car info. Take care!

Hello, again! It's been well over two years since my original post. I finally took some photos of the 1977 Plymouth Arrow GT which I promised long ago I would post for you guys! And I've actually started calling around to find some used tires to put on her so we can push her out for a bath. We don't have tires yet, so the photos I have don't show her at her best. However, BB-Dave had asked that I post the photos with the "barn find" look, too, so that's what I'll do. Once she's all clean and shiny, I'll post a few more. I noticed, above, I had mentioned her original miles as 35K - actually, it is 36,194, but not too far off the mark. It's not like she has gone anywhere in the past three years - actually, the day we drove her and parked her in the shop was 21 years ago (1996), and she had been driven very few miles after 1982, so I think, at this point, y'all would call her a "roller" - that is if we ever get some newer tires! She needs a battery, and the missing passenger-side mirror is on the front floorboard, because I know y'all will notice that stuff right away. Otherwise, she is intact, down to her "Mitsubitshi OK" factory label on the side window, and she's got a fighting chance of coming back to life. I don't think there aren't too many of these cars still around - at least that haven't seen some time on a race track at some point. Hope this brings back some memories for some of you, like she does for us!

That's a dandy! There's a lot of mopar fans that would like that one. Me included!

Nice little car -- Hope that You Folks are OK, down there in Texas. --

They were so plentiful.this is a very nice example of a barn find.

  • RPMagoo, Thanks for your concern. Just a little rain for us - all is well!
  • abodyjoe, Price is still undetermined, but we are trying to research what a fair price might be. I am even learning new meanings for words like "roller", "old school radios", and "project cars".
  • Thank you all for your comments and taking time to view the photos.

That was a very popular paint scheme on those cars. Looked good on them.

Did those come with a big 2.6 four also? That's all 70's man! I learned to drive a stick in a '77 Celica, looked the same inside, woodgrain and striped seats. Dig that stereo cassette, and a trip computer?
