Converting my 63 dart to dual master. I bought the Raybestos MC36406 after reading up here. And I got the 15/16" bore again as per here. Problem is the pushrod diameter is too big for it....but is also a different design. I separated the old push rod and it fits in the new master socket. But of course I destroyed the rubber on the end of the pushrod that keeps it in place. Do I need a rebuild kit for the MC36406 with a new pushrod assembly? or can I get a new rubber end for my current 63 pushrod? I have the rebuild kit for the original master with a new pushrod assy. Is there a fancy way to separate the assembly without destroying the rubber?
. Thx in advance!!

Usually a new grommet and boot are supplied with the master if you ordered it for a manual brake car.

Came with just the master assembly. Nothing past the snap ring... is that a grommet on the end of the pushrod. Can i buy that?

For reference. I'm sure u all know what. Ur talking about....I don't!

The snap ring is out so that plunger thingy is sticking out.

So can i buy the rubber piece at the end of the pushrod? Or what else is the recommended fix?

I used the remnants of the old pushrod rubber and it fit in fairly snug. I drilled and tapped the boot holder onto the master as others have written. Got her in bled n nice n tight. We will see how she stops and feels in the coming days after some power steering pump work.

Stops well but pulls to the right. Didn't do that before. Seems my alignment is also off all of the sudden.
