Not bad for a /6 better than dead stock the least you can do to make them a little more enjoyable. But their comparing net and gross power numbers.
And secondly leaving out gearing which is the main problem with small displacement.
232 lbs-ft vs 318/340 Stock 340 lbs-ft
340 x 3.23 = 1098 lbs-ft to the tires
232 x 4.73= 1098 lbs-ft to the tires
You need 1.5 more gear than a 177 hp 318 to equal out.
One thing I like about that build is should all these carb worries that the bottom end torque kept going up every time.
Air flow builds torque (hp) obviously there's limits.
