okay, I'm really considering this and want to know what you all think. I'm waivering about closing up the factory gas cap location and mounting a flip top cap on top of the quarter ala charger. Keep it simple or make it mine??? It's a 67 gt slant six car but a damn nice one that's being prepped for paint. It's got dutra duals, super six, BBP discs and rear from a 73 duster. Not factory correct or an asphalt eater but a nice fun driver. I would rebend the filler tube. I don't want to put in the whole "bowl" and trim ring on but just flush mount it. The slanted back of the cap actually levels out with the quarter panel. Aside from the work involved and possible paint damage from over spill what do you think??

@4mulaSvaliant makes an adaptor that lets you bolt a flip top cap straight onto the original location. His thread is here, although it's closed for replies. I'm sure you could send him a PM, or contact him through his website. The ORIGINAL Flip Top Cap Adapter - FlipTopCapAdapter.com . No bodywork required that way. Fuel spillage is a problem in either location anyway.

I have one on my Duster, he has more pictures of other cars on his website

I think it would look pretty slick on top.

I agree! They looked great up there on the Chargers.

But, it's a lot easier to leave it on the side. No bodywork, no modifying the filler tube, etc. Either way looks good, all about how much trouble you want to go through to put it on the top.

I have always wanted to do exactly that but with one on each side (both functional)

i HATE the little dribble that always runs down the side when fueling. I've tried everything I can think of to stop it. I now carry wet wipes to clean it off with, but it removes the wax. GRRRR aarghhh

is 4mulaSvaliant still making these? Tried a PM but inbox must be full. What cap works best?

Thanks -

I’m intending on doing one of these on my 69 Valiant, but I want to use the recess that the 67-69 Barracuda’s have. I’ve got the pieces, just need to get them all together.

Hi I bought an adapter long ago but did not put it on yet. What year and car cap did you use? Also could you post picture of cap open? Thanks
I will get you a picture might be tomorrow I am retiring today and have to turn in company property and then dinner tonight. I bought the cap years ago at a swap meet not sure but I think it was from a 68 or 69 Barracuda.

Congratulations on your retirement! Summer is a good time to retire.

Car is a little dirty, but here is my cap. Love the look of it,and most recognize it as a Chrysler thing, so very few nova quips.
