Yup, got em. Any advice? I would love to keep my arm length to close-up vision. I can deal with glasses either way but would love to keep my arm length vision.

My Mom's idiot husband had cataract surgery awhile back. He was amazed at how clear he saw afterward. The yellow tinge in his vision was gone and everything was clearer and brighter.
I still didn't like the asshole.

I had mine done a couple years ago
Simple surgery and made a world of difference

mom had them.. she was scared to death to have the surgery.. after seeing how much clearer and how the colors popped after having th efirst eye done she couldn't wait to have the second eye done..

I had cataract surgery about a year ago. Before surgery I was wearing bifocals and needed my glasses for reading, watching TV, driving and almost everything that required any detail. I was having serious trouble with night driving as a result of headlight glare. Today, as part of cataract surgery they also implant corrective lenses, which is what was done in my case. I no longer need glasses for anything other than close up fine detail. I no longer need glasses for driving, watching TV, or using my computer. The headlight glare problem is almost non-existent. I think you will be very pleasantly surprised.

Mom had the surgery too. Had just moved and never realized kitchen was blue, thought it was green.

Macular degeneration for me.....

In my biased opinion, I think imperials are nicer.

The corrective lens thing is what I am wondering about. If I can drive and read a computer screen I would be tickled pink Cadillac.

When I had mine done the Dr. strongly recommended lenses that give you 20/20 at a distance. I wanted to be able to see close up. He also said that my depth perception would be better with the long range lenses. I really wanted to NOT have to wear glasses to read but "ended up going with" the Doctors recommendation. Now, many years later I can say......the Doctor was right!! I can see "like a hawk" from 5ft out to infinity. I have to wear glasses to see clearly close up, I can read without glasses but it not as clear.
I got used to carrying reading glasses and really enjoy driving without glasses. The surgery also helps tremendously with driving at night!!! The surgery is totally painless and very fast!!

Don't hold back. Tell us how you really feel.

My dad had that surgery. They implanted the corrective lenses also.
Says he doesn't know why he waited so long.

I think I am one of the few who had the lens implant and have hated it ever since.Without glasses the "corrected" eye is way worse than the other one.It was supposed to improve. I still think the eye Dr messed up but who am I to say.

It might depend on the Dr., I had a very experienced opthamologist (been seeing him for many, many years). He had done hundreds of lens replacements before he got to me.
