Anyone know the owner (Joseph Scozzari) of this 70 Swinger featured in November 16 Hemmings muscle machines? I'm looking to ask if this car's fender tag is coded with "M25 Wide sill molding". My "M25" 70 Swinger was missing the moldings when purchased years ago, and this cars is the first I've seen with this style molding. I purchased a set here used, and installed them when my car was in paint, and I've never been able to confirm if they are correct or not. I though they just didn't appear to be correct when I came upon this picture of this yellow 70. Not very many swingers have sill moldings if you search pictures

well I'm trying to determine if these are the M25 molding

Are you talking about the molding that goes down the entire car or the lower rocker trim?

I have a 70 that came factory with the side molding, I can check my fender tag if you want.

The moldings shown on the 1970 340 Swinger in Hemmings are correct for a 1970 340 Swinger. I factory ordered a 1970 Plymouth Duster 340 and the factory order book included the protective vinyl body side moldings as a factory option to replace the longitudinal side stripes. I will also add that my older brother was a car salesman at the largest Chrysler Plymouth Dodge dealership in the Washington DC area in 1970, and his sales materials direct from Chrysler included these exact body side moldings on any 1970 Dodge Dart model including the 340 Swinger. While these protective vinyl body side moldings were not too commonly found on 1970 340 Swingers, these were installed on MANY 1970 Dart Swingers.

If you want more information on factory options for any given year of a Chrysler product, with emphasis on the 1960s and 1970s cars and trucks, you need to visit Barry Washington's website. He is also a member on this site known as Alaskan_TA.

I have a 71 Dart custom 2drht that has them and is coded for the M25 sill moldings. They look thinner than the ones on the illustration which could be exaggerated.

yes the illustration may not be accurate, but the actual car photos in the magazine appear to have the same or similar wide molding. The set I bought and installed on my 70 are the same molding and I was told they are correct but I've yet to see another 70 with them.
