Vent Window Frame Resto
yep they have to come out. BUT you only need to take the pot metal(chrome piece ) off and ship to a restorer. there should be 2 or 3 screws on the front edge below the auxiliary vent window strip and a couple of screws on the vent wing assembly itself. getting it out and in is the hard part.
the back piece towards the drivers or passengers side window is stainless on my car and I'm asssssssuuuuming (you know where that get ya) yours is too. so it can be polished easily at home.
mines a 66 but yours should be close to this
when you get it this far you'll see what screws have to be removed from the pot metal piece make sure to look under the weather stripping to get them all (first pic you can see some of it peeled up from the wing vent)
