From my experience, all the way back to the old hemi days w/ marginal tires. Even had a pair of 16 x32.5`s on the hemi at one time. Did`t have good luck w/ a new pair of m-h-early 2000`s either . mickey Thompson were good, hoosiers held air perfectly, and dead hooked on a 600 horse 406 sbc pick up. I have m-t drag radial s on my 505" fish, w/ caltracs, no dragstrip as of yet, but don`t think they`ll ever hold it !----------so far. If I were going to buy new slicks, it would be the biggest thing I could get on the car, and be Hoosiers. JMO
