i dont know whats going on with scrap pricing...must be the new "1 of 1" scam
ive been looking for a pallet rack to store fire wood in, and read it on craigslist all daylong "scrap value is..." apparently those grids that go on those pallets racks are with 20 dollars scrap value
 
Steel was about $80/ton around here last month. Iron was slightly more.
 
Ya, its gotta weigh a half a ton,i trued lifting one once....
Scrap up here is 210/ton today.
 
I work in Spring Lake actually. Scrap here is around $0.07/lb currently
 
That motor should weigh 550 or so. Depending on scrap where you live thats 35 to 40 bucks. I dont get where people think scrap pays so much. It like finding a old junk car. Say a four door with a few usable parts and the owners asking a thousand dollars. When you try to negociate they come back with 'it will bring more than that in scrap".
